Examples to get you across the fundraising finish line
Teach

Yoga Instruction
At the beach, with goats, with a glass of wine, solo, as a group…we’ve seen many folks host a yoga session for their donors. Sometimes the charity bib is the qualified yoga instructor, sometimes they get a friend who is a yoga instructor to donate their time and lead the class for them.

Swim Class
This year a private swim instructor with a waitlist for their classes offered to do private lessons one Saturday a month for a donation to their charity. They doubled their donations in a week.

Fitness Training
In 2023 we had several charity bibs who instructed fitness classes or were fitness coaches. They offered a mixture of group classes and private coaching to raise donations for their charities. One fitness professional even did a burpee-thon doing a burpee for every dollar donated in the last week of his fundraising.
Host

Game Night
We’ve heard this come up repeatedly over the years. Folks host game nights at home, at coffee shop or breweries. Usually they involve asking for donations to attend and then they provide some snacks and games. From checkers to dodgeball to foosball to cards, there are countless games out there.

Dog Walking
So many of our charity bibs are trying to get their miles in for training that we thought it was pure genius that someone fundraised by walking/running the dogs in their neighborhood for donations. They were training and fundraising and getting all the dog snuggles, not a bad way to do it!

Dinner Party
Do you enjoy cooking? Set up a ticketed event to chef up your favorite meal for friends and neighbors. You don't need to be a professional chef, but we did have one who reached their fundraising minimum in one go with this strategy.
Make

Baked Goods
Baked goods are a classic and timeless option. If you’re good at baking or have a few friends or family members who can help, a bake sale is a great way to connect with your community, especially if you pair it up with an event with lots of people.

Art
A few participants created prints of their artwork - photography, paintings, and drawings and turned them into postcards. They mailed a limited edition print to anyone who donated a certain amount.

Gifts
Recently, someone shared that they roast their own coffee beans, and are gifting some of their limited-batch roasts in exchange for donations.

Spicy Peppers
One athlete told us that anytime someone donated $50, he let them pick out a food item, which he then ate on his next run. His followers enjoyed making him sweat out spicy peppers and various other foods.

Hair Cuts
Similarly, our team heard stories of success that included runners collecting donations in exchange for donors voting on race day haircuts, beard styles, and attire.

Local Businesses
We've heard many stories of folks working with local businesses - especially breweries and coffee shops with options including hosting trivia nights, portion of sales donated during a specific timeframe, and putting donation jars on the counter.
